The WordPress editor for posts and pages has many features, but today we’re going to focus on how to add links to a post or page. Links or hyperlinks allow you to create a virtual jump which will take a customer to a specific page within the internet. You can also embed certain types of documents that your viewers can click on and then view or download as per their needs. This tutorial will cover the step-by-step process in how to add a link to your post or page.

How to Add links using the WordPress Editor

1. Login to the WordPress Administrator
2. Open a Page/Post
3. Two ways to insert a post:
a. Bring your cursor to the place where you want to insert a link,
then click on the Insert/Edit in order to create the link. The
Link Text can be altered here - it represents the text that will be
shown for the link.
b. Highlight existing text within your post/page, then click on the
Insert/Edit link button. You can add the link here by typing it in
or pasting into URL field.
c. Click on Add Link
4. Click on Save Draft, Publish, or Update in order to save the changes
to your post/page.

How to add links using the Add Media Option

1. Login to the WordPress Administrator
2. Open a Page/Post
3. Click on Add Media
4. Select the document that you want to insert
5. Click on Insert to Post (or Page)
6 Click on Save Draft, Publish, or Update in order to save the changes
to your post/page.

How to Edit a Link in a Post/Page

1. Login to the WordPress Administrator
2. Open a Page/Post
3. Click on the Link that you wish to edit. The cursor should be
blinking on some part of the link.
4. In the Editor toolbar, click on the Insert/Edit button. This will bring
up the Link popup which includes the options to edit the link or link
text. Make your changes. Note that changing the Link text does
change the text that was being used for the link in the post/page.
5. Click on UPDATE in order to save the changes to your edited link.
6. Click on Update in order to save the changes to your Post/Page.
