This Movie explains how to use the Lambda button on the Solid Optics Optical Power Meter. The Power Meter uses an InGaAs detector which has unique sensitivity for different wavelengths. To calibrate the correct dBm, the Power Meter must be set to a specific wavelength which is close to the wavelength you are measuring.
