What is VMware HA (high availability) and DRS (distributed resource scheduler)? VMware HA ensures VM instances stay running and activates maintenance mode for a failed host server to keep VMs powered on. VMware DRS provides automated or recommended resource balancing for optimal VM and cluster performance. Both mitigate downtime for your virtual machines.

VMware HA Features:
- vCenter Server Standard license.
- Two or more ESXi hosts.
- Storage area network (SAN).
- Redundant physical networking.
- Host fault tolerance.

VMware DRS Features:
- VMware Enterprise Plus license.
- Two or more ESXi hosts.
