Alcon Laboratories (Alcon) has increased the efficiency and satisfaction of its sales representatives by modernizing Custom Pak Designer on AWS. As a global leader in eye care, Alcon aimed to modernize its monolithic Custom Pak Designer application, which helps sales representatives create custom material packs for eye surgeons. To achieve this, the company redeveloped the application using a serverless, microservices based architecture on AWS, employing services such as AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway.
