I’ve been using Hostinger for over 5 years now. The service changed over the years, introduced more new features and updated their technology. In this video I’ll tell you what you should know about this service before you buy it.

#1 Price
Even though Hostinger lists monthly prices, you’ll need to pay everything upfront. This can seem a bit weird but in the web hosting world this is how things work. This can be a double-edged sword. On the plus side you just purchase the service and are immune to any price increases during that period but on the other hand you do need to pay for however many years you plan to use the service. But since Hostinger is one of the cheapest web hosts I believe it’s not a big deal.

#2 Limitations
All plans give you enough resources to build and maintain a website. However I couldn’t find how many users the plans could handle at the same time. After testing it out myself I was actually surprised that over a 100 people can be browsing your website with the cheapest plan. While you can’t run an ecommerce shop with that number for a simple portfolio or a similar site that’s already an overkill and you’ll be totally fine. Don’t buy a more expensive plan just because Hostinger suggests you do.

#3
As I mentioned, Hostinger excels at hosting simple websites. However when it comes to the biggest projects, I do believe that there are better options available. Hostinger does have its cloud hosting plans which are decent but still there are other providers that offer way more additional stuff. So don’t stick with one provider especially if you know what you need. Explore and maybe you’ll find an option that will give you a better bang for your buck.

#4
Hostinger gives you a chance to double your plan’s resources for 24 hours once a month. This is quite a new addition but a very nice one. If you’re going to demo your website for someone or you know it’s going to receive a lot of traffic that day, definitely activate this feature.

#5
It’s always a good idea to test things out first and only then apply the changes to your real website. If you buy Hostinger’s business plan you’ll get a staging environment which is basically your testing grounds. You can merge the test website with the live website and apply changes that way. It’s a way safer option than editing the live site and trying to fix it while your visitors are watching you struggle.

I hope this video will help you make the right decision. Good luck with your website!
