Upon your purchase and first time opening the Hostinger dashboard you will see that Hostinger has actually made it quite easy for you to get started. You'll see a "setup" button near your domain name / web hosting plan and SSL certificate if you bought it. I recommend starting with the web hosting plan. Just click the "SETUP" button in your Hostinger dashboad and you'll be taken through a couple of menus where you can choose your WordPress settings, login information and register your domain name at the same time.

If it's not your first time opening and setting up the Hostinger control panel don't worry. You can still install WordPress by going into the "MANAGE" section of your Hostinger web hosting plan and clicking on "Auto Installers" there you'll find WordPress and you'll be able to repeat the process.

In this Hostinger WordPress tutorial I showcase the main way I recommend creating websites for beginners. Using a simple Astra theme. You'll get plenty of templates to choose for free and you can edit your website using the Elementor website builder. It's an easy to use "drag and drop" style tool. You can install Astra straight from your WordPress dashboard. Just click on "Themes" search for Astra and install it, then you'll see an additional menu saying "Get Started" from there it's pretty much just choosing a design you like and modifying it to your liking.

Website security is "modular" meaning you need to have many different layers of protection. Good thing you can do all of it for free, but in this Hostinger WordPress tutorial I'll focus on just the "must do" security measures, mainly an SSL certificate.

If you bought an SSL from Hostinger or got one for free you can activate it from your Hostinger control panel. And you won't need to do any other WordPress optimizations it'll start working right away.

SPEED OPTIMIZATIONS

In this Hostinger WordPress tutorial I'll mainly focus on just 1 aspect of optimization and that's images. Because Hostinger already has Litespeed Cache and Litespeed servers enabled. Taking care of a lot optimizations for you.

To optimize the images on my Hostinger WordPress website I've used a plugin called SMUSH. I've also enabled PHP version 7.4
