Let's talk about content on your site. That's all the text, images, videos, contact forms, list goes on and on but for this video let's focus on your website copy. When it comes to text on a website it's definitely a case of less is more.
00:17 Text heavy sites are a total turn off. And at the end of the day your website needs to communicate three main pieces of info, who you are, what you do, how we can contact you.
00:28 First off tell them who you are. If you're a business or a cause. When were you established?
Where are you located? And if it's personal, where are you from? And how'd you get started?
00:35 And the second thing you wanna do is tell people what you do. So if you're a business or a cause, what are the products or services you offer? And what's the cause that you're supporting? How are you doing that? If it's more of an individual thing just make it a little more personal. List some accomplishments or how you got started in doing what you're doing. You know, what sets you apart from other people who might be doing the same thing.
00:53 And then let people know how to get ahold of you. Are you gonna have a contact form on your site? Are you gonna gather their information? Or do you have a physical location that people are gonna visit you at? Stick to the basics phone number, email address, physical address. Chances are you've probably got a lot of marketing materials already out there, reuse that content on your site.
And that's it, I mean that's not all of it but that's what you need to get your website started now.
Yeah, you can add other things, pages, testimonials later. These three pieces are what's gonna get you up and running fast.
