If you're interested in your own website, but don't really have the burning desire to spend money on it. I'll show you how to create a free website. Keep in mind, that free solutions don't always tend to work as intended. So, you might need to do a bit of fidgeting to get everything working properly. If you value your time I strongly recommend you get a cheap web hosting provider & domain instead of using free ones.

Getting a Free Domain

Okay so... how to create a free website? Well, you need 4 components in general. A website name (domain), web hosting, design and content.

The first step is registering a website name, sadly most people want a .com or a .net domain. But those can only be bought, there is no way to get a domain extension like that for free.

As far as free options go, you're limited to somewhat weird domain names like .tk or .ga. You can register a free website name here:

Make sure to type in the full website name in the search bar. Instead of typing "emitreviews" type in "emitreviews.ga" when you're registering your name. Otherwise, it'll show up as "Not Available"

Getting Free Web Hosting

The second part on our "how to make a free website" quest is getting a place to host our files for free. In other words, getting free web hosting.

Again, I want to warn you that free web hosting is quite unreliable, it doesn't always work as suspected. And in my opinion, cheap web hosting is ALWAYS better than free. You can get some cheap web hosting plans here:

However, there are free web hosting services available as well. The one I use most of the time is called 000webhost. It's gotten much worse with time, but it still gets the job done.

Adding a Design for Free

When creating you free website, the difficulty of adding a simple design to it varies based on how well your free web hosting service wants to co-operate.

In some cases, it's really fast and hassle free. In others cases, it's buggy, slow and just needs a lot of refreshes, 2nd tries to get it working properly.

The main idea is just installing an "Astra" theme into your WordPress account, selecting a template and editing it with Elementor. Elementor allows easy drag & drop website editing and is completely free to use. So, it's a great addition to your toolbox when you're interested in how to to create a free website.

As I've mentioned before by using a free domain and free web hosting you have a high chance of running into errors. Don't worry it's completely normal, the best thing you can do is reseting your 000webhost account and trying again, trying a different template.
