Today we’re going to look at how to reset your permalinks. By definition, Permalinks are the permanent URLs to your individual posts, as well as categories and other lists of postings. A permalink is what another blogger will use to link to your article (or section), or how you might send a link to your story in an e-mail message.

1. Login to the Administrator
2. Click General
3. Click on Settings , the click on Permalinks in the menu
4. In order to RESET the Permalinks, click on DEFAULT
5. Click on SAVE

Why reset your permalink?

Permalinks are stored as easy-to-read links within your WordPress database. If at any time you move your WordPress site to another host, change your domain name, or if you’re simply having problems with links on your website, then it’s often best to reset your permalinks.

Make sure to click on SAVE in order to save your permalinks to the DEFAULT setting. Once they are saved, you can then put them back to the original setting and then re-save.

When you perform the reset process for permalink you are re-writing them within the database.
